Many dogs have graced my life, but there's always "that one". She's the one in the picture here with me. I delivered her litter. The puppies were coming into the world fast, and there were 10 of them.

I named her "Wools". She had a thick matted wooly coat, and her name stuck - she changed my life - forever.

Born - July 23, 1997 - 3:34 am
Passed on - February 13, 2007 - 2:30 p.m.

I don't have a PhD, or a DVM - but I had her, and she's still right there - tucked in the deepest, safest spot in my heart.

She was a big dog in many ways, and there weren't many restrictions in her world.
To quote a friend, "For the first time I understood how dumb a human can be in the presence of an intelligent animal."

When we moved out beyond my restrictions, we found ourselves operating and connecting in a field of energy - both in our individual states and yet together as a universal state of mind.

That's what I call meditation. We've moved as one, everywhere.

She kept pushing my limits and I dove in. Yes, I have multiple broken bones and scars as fond memories. And I would do it all over again - tomorrow.

She exposed me, and I began to learn. Humility, trust, fear, respect, silent rhythms, order.
We had an agreement and she reminded me of our "original instructions".

She also set me to thinking. There's always "that one, that one special dog",
Is it the dog, or who you are as a person at that time...............

For those needing to know, CNRP after my name means, Canine Natural Rearing Practitioner
Natural Rearing is the study of the canine species in their natural environment without the interference of humans. This includes every aspect and mechanism of their lives. Instinct, ritual, physical, emotion, sex/reproduction, feeding/nutrition, processes, and behaviors.

Other areas of study and certification - canine physiology, traditional Chinese medicine, canine massage, canine hydrotherapy, canine behavior, trans-species relationship, Chinese food theory, canine anatomy and rehabilitation, gait analysis, breed specific requirements, and what the dog's consider the number one credential - how to play and have fun.

There have been and currently are many teachers I study under everyday - lucky for me - they are all canine.
